CareerSource Capital Region Debuts Career Pathways Project to Connect Community with Career and Training Opportunities

New Partnership Focuses on Career Pathways in the Capital Region

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – CareerSource Capital Region, local businesses, educational providers and economic development entities are pleased to announce a partnership that seeks to develop the thriving talent market, by meeting the needs of career seekers with invaluable opportunities. 

The Career Pathways project will transform the way our community learns about in-demand careers that are available in the region. Students, parents, teachers and career seekers will be able to explore career paths whether it is their first job or second career with the help of local training programs along with financial aid opportunities. Career seekers that would like to explore careers and learn about training available in the region should visit www.mycareerpathways.org.

“Our desire has always been to help shape the future of workforce development,” said Jim McShane, Chief Executive Officer of CareerSource Capital Region. “The Career Pathways project, which was created through a council with our Board of Directors, establishes community-driven strategies to help us connect our community to the resources necessary to thrive. This partnership embraces a broader vision for the future and establishes a unified and improved connection for career seekers and businesses.”

“The Career Pathways project recognizes the talents and strengths of our educational institutions joining forces to meet the current and future workforce needs of area employers”, stated Kimberly A. Moore, Vice President for Workforce Innovation of Tallahassee Community College, and Career Pathways Council Chair for CareerSource Capital Region. “Through this effort, we are establishing a no-wrong door approach for connecting individuals seeking training with the information they need to advance their career and future.”

“ISF supports this partnership because it provides an easy way for our citizens to pursue their education and obtain jobs with higher wages, said Cyndy Loomis, CEO of Information Systems of Florida, Inc.  “Tallahassee and the surrounding area have a wealth of untapped human potential. The Career Pathways project provides an entry point into our educational systems that allow young and adult students to extend their education.  As a local employer, ISF is constantly seeking to hire new talent. The Career Pathway project helps bridge a critical gap in our community.”
